I picked up Final Fantasy XIII today, went to the nearest Best Buy, and played it for 5 and a half hours straight. If I didn't have to get up early the next day I'd play all night. It's amazing, from the graphics to the gameplay. And to get myself ready for this momentous occasion, for the past week I immersed myself in Final Fantasy. All I listened to was Final Fantasy related music, from the soundtracks to techno remixes. I listed through the soundtracks for Final Fantasy IV, VII, VIII, IX, X and the best of the rest of the games. I also been playing Final Fantasy VIII on my lunch breaks at work on my PSP. On my way to get the game I had my phone/mp3 player rocking the music in my car all the way to best buy. (I had to do this since my CD player is busted in my car.) I was tempted to have it ready to play the victory music as I walked out of Best Buy after purchasing the game, but that might have been a little over the top. (Or would it!?) I also picked up the collector strategy guide not knowing this was actually a limited release. No I'm glad I got it with the game!

A couple days ago it came out that old PS3s were having problems. Some people had the wrong time or couldn't get online or even play anything offline. I happened to use my PS3 without realizing there was a problem. I noticed I couldn't get on the Playstation network, but I was able to play games just fine. And my clock had reset. Then I saw that Sony said not to use older PS3s since there might be some data loss. Well now that it fixed itself, I'm proud to say my clock is reset to the right time and I didn't lose any of my trophies or data! So really I wasn't too affected by all this with my 'old' 20 GB PS3. I almost used this as an excuse to get a slim for my other TV, but it was over before I could pull it off. Oh well.

Christmas has come and gone, which is good and also sucks. It sucks since now we have to go back to real life, it was nice having a week off. (which was good due to being snowed in for the holidays) But it's good since now I have new things to play with! I didn't get most the games I asked for, but I did get a good one. I was surprised with a copy of DJ Hero! I also recieved Fallout 3: Game of the Year for My PC. And Final Fantasy XII: Revenant wings for DS, which was a surprise since I didn't have it on My list. Besides candy and beef jerky I did get the Blu-ray of Final Fantasy: Advent children which I plan to watch soon. I spent most of the weekend rocking or mixing DJ Hero like crazy. I almost have played through it on medium, which is now easy so like Guitar Hero I'm going straight to expert. I also pulled a couple late nights playing Resident Evil 5 with my brother in-law. Hopefully we might be able to finish it over New Years weekend. Christmas was pretty fun this year, besides this I played some fun wii games with family over the week. it was a good time and now it'll be nice to have another long weekend for New Years!

The God of War Collection is definitely worth picking up, if mainly for this demo. It's a pretty big download but is simply amazing. The game looks insane with the expected God of War action. The latest screenshot of the game come from this demo, and the demo is almost like the hi-res screenshots came to life. It is very detailed from the characters to the gore. There are a few scenes that definitely would gross some people out. But it s all so crazy looking. I'm sure the full game is going to improve on this demo, but right now it's looking amazing!

The other day I decided to go out to the local Gamestop and pick up the God of War Collection. I ended up trading in the my PS2 God of War titles for it since I wouldn't play them on PS2 anymore. I got a good deal on it so I went with it. I was very surprised by how good this looks on the PS3. The CG movies and actual game graphics are amazing in 720p HD. There are in game cutscenes that don't look as good. But the majority of it looks like it could have been made as a downloadable for the PS3. The sound is also really good, now in surround sound. This game looks and plays great on my 55 inch TV! All running at a perfect 60 FPS! Besides the fact I got this, another reason I have for replaying these games are the new trophies that are in the PS3 collection. It's been a while since I played God of War 1 and 2, so it'll be fun playing them again on the PS3. Also I didn't realize until] I got home, but I was able to download the E3 2009 playable God of war 3 demo with a voucher that came with this collection!

Resistance 2 is a pretty cool sequel to Resistance: Fall of man, but for all the
cool stuff it has it has it's faults too. A lot of stuff in the story about the
chiamera changed from how they did stuff in the first. mainly in the first game the
chiamera were created when people were infected with their virus or when people were
captured and turned into them. This one got away from that completely, even though
there are a couple references to how they used to do it nothing is really explained.
Also in the time between the games the chiamera apparently developed or always had
way crazier ships and weapons. Even though the ships are sweet they now seem like
the chiamera are invading aliens, when it was sort explained they were from Earth.
Anyway there lots of things that are not explained and the story almost seems to get
lost at times. There is a time gap between the games, but it'd be cool if something
was explained.
In this game they made Nathan Hale not only looks a little different but talks too.
I guess it's a little different since you fight with other soldiers and aren't as
much as a loner as in the first game. This game plays the same with upgraded
weapons and new enemies. in some way this one almost seems like a first person
Gears of war. The graphics are pretty awesome. The environments look more
realistic and there are good looking cut scenes. some of which the camera cuts away
too soon and doesn't show as much as you would like. one of the most annoying
things in the game is the lighting they used. it seems they attempted to use some
High Range lighting like every game does now, but the way they did it the dark areas
are way to dark. This included shadows in sunny outdoor levels. something is weird
if you need a flashlight in the shadows of a sunny day. In some areas this can make
the game spooky, but after a while it gets annoying. And you do have a flash light
but this doesn't help as much as you would like. There are also no brightness
controls in the game so you can't adjust it and I don't want to adjust My TV and
screw up how everything else looks on it.
My last complaint is the multiplayer sucks. First of all you can't play offline
deathmatch with a friend, it all has to be online. And there is no coop mode
through the main campaign like the first game had. Instead you can play special
side story levels, and this can be offline or online. Anyway, besides it faults
this is still a fun game that is worth playing if you liked Resistance.

It seems like I just got GH: world Tour and smash Hits, and now GH5 is out. Of course I had to pick it up right away. I decided to get this one a head of Rockband: Beatles, which I really want too. anyway GH5 is an awesome upgrade from the past few games using the GH: world Tour engine. GH5 has lots of cool new features for solo and band play, the coolest is the new Party Play. AS soon as the game starts it shows a song going before the menus, with the touch of a button you can instantly start this song with whatever instrument you want. if you have friends that want to play, they can join in anytime with whatever they want to play. They can quit playing just a easy, without interrupting the song. And the best part is something I've been wanting for a long time, you get random songs thrown at you from the game or downloads. so you don't know what you'll get! Also this is a non
competitive mode, and you don't get booed of stage. It does show you scores after the song, but this is a great way to practice random songs. Also with this game you can have any combination of instruments you want, also you can have multiple lead guitars. So you don't have to be stuck on the bass. There are also new competitive modes that are fun for a challenge.
This game has a nice selection of music, 85 more songs. one new feature for this is that you can import past games and downloaded content. I think it only goes as far back as GH: World Tour though. I was able to do an import of World Tour, Smash Hits, and my downloaded songs. it isn't perfect, as not all the songs carried over. There are some I'm not too happy about not transferring. And on the Xbox you have to play a small fee to import past games as it downloads the music off of Xbox live,
which makes me wonder why not all songs are there. Anyways I now have 173 songs in GH5! And if I picked Up GH: Metallica I bet I could transfer that in. This game also has very improved graphics. The characters and the concerts looks awesome,
with lots of cool camera effects. much more realistic concerts than before. You can also do all the same character customization and there are lots of new things to unlock. Also the career mode has new challenges to unlock stuff that make it more fun. I saw something like this in Rock Revolution and am happy to see it in GH. If you like Guitar Hero, or want to play something better than Rockband, then this is a must get!

Wet is an interesting title for a game, especially when it involves a hot chick as the main character. This action title seems like it could be a lot of fun. It's done in almost a cinema like style that has the makings of a Tarentino flick. In the demo the game plays like any 3rd person action game, except you can do awesome bullet time attacks. This game pulls of bullet time as well as Max Payne (which is one of the best). You can attack and change targets to hit multiple targets all in one flying motion, or sliding motion. Plus you have a sword that can be fun in a crowd of enemies. This will definitely be one I'll have to pick up if the full game is as fun as the demo.

I just purchased the full Guitar Hero world Tour band set about a month ago. I was rocking with friends and having tons of fun until about 2 weeks ago. That's when my green drum pad decided to do it's own thing. Even from the moment I had set up the drum set, the green pad seemed to be not as sensitive as the rest of the set. But I got used to it. Then it decided to be way to sensitive to the point where I could trigger it by shaking the drums. It was fun to hit to notes at the same time if the colors were right, but that got old fast. Anyway I tried to track down another drum set for the XBOX 360, but no one has them. And of course I can't find my reciept so I can't exchange the set or use the warranty. But last night I decided to open it up and see what's going on after looking at common problems and fixes online. When I opened it the sensor for the green pad wasn't on the pad, it came off. So I stuck it back on and added some tape to secure it. Now it works better then ever, so I wonder if it was never fully attached to the pad when I first set it Up. But now it works perfectly and it only cost me ten minutes! And now I know what to do if it happens aqain. It's sort of dumb that this is a common problem, but atleast it's easy to fix.

A couple of weeks ago I noticed Gamestop had a great sale on Guitar Hero: World Tour full band sets. They had it on sale for $89.99! The regular price for the full band is $180, they had an instant $100 off for 360, Wii, and PS2. so I went in and traded in My Copy Of GH: world Tour since the band came with it and got a little more off. In the end I got the whole set for around $80! 1 kept the guitar I had from world Tour and still have the guitars from GH 2 and 3. So now I have the whole band, and also 4 guitars for Guitar Hero 5. Now weekends are all about jam sessions with friends that turn into some soft of horrible, but fun, karaoke. NOW GH:World Tour is almost like a new game playing with the drums. I don't think I'll get as good with the drums as I am with the guitar, but it's still fun. NOW I'M looking or used copies of other games with band support for more multiplayer fun and for other songs to play.
