It seems like I just got GH: world Tour and smash Hits, and now GH5 is out. Of course I had to pick it up right away. I decided to get this one a head of Rockband: Beatles, which I really want too. anyway GH5 is an awesome upgrade from the past few games using the GH: world Tour engine. GH5 has lots of cool new features for solo and band play, the coolest is the new Party Play. AS soon as the game starts it shows a song going before the menus, with the touch of a button you can instantly start this song with whatever instrument you want. if you have friends that want to play, they can join in anytime with whatever they want to play. They can quit playing just a easy, without interrupting the song. And the best part is something I've been wanting for a long time, you get random songs thrown at you from the game or downloads. so you don't know what you'll get! Also this is a non competitive mode, and you don't get booed of stage. It does show you scores after the song, but this is a great way to practice random songs. Also with this game you can have any combination of instruments you want, also you can have multiple lead guitars. So you don't have to be stuck on the bass. There are also new competitive modes that are fun for a challenge.

This game has a nice selection of music, 85 more songs. one new feature for this is that you can import past games and downloaded content. I think it only goes as far back as GH: World Tour though. I was able to do an import of World Tour, Smash Hits, and my downloaded songs. it isn't perfect, as not all the songs carried over. There are some I'm not too happy about not transferring. And on the Xbox you have to play a small fee to import past games as it downloads the music off of Xbox live, which makes me wonder why not all songs are there. Anyways I now have 173 songs in GH5! And if I picked Up GH: Metallica I bet I could transfer that in. This game also has very improved graphics. The characters and the concerts looks awesome, with lots of cool camera effects. much more realistic concerts than before. You can also do all the same character customization and there are lots of new things to unlock. Also the career mode has new challenges to unlock stuff that make it more fun. I saw something like this in Rock Revolution and am happy to see it in GH. If you like Guitar Hero, or want to play something better than Rockband, then this is a must get!
