Once again another prequel in the God of War series. I personally was hoping this one was God of War 4, which they need to do somehow. But this one is definitely the best prequel yet. This also has some of the best graphics so far on the PS3. There are huge bosses and battles that really make you appreciate the graphics. This one is when Kratos decides to break his oath with Aries And in doing so, he has to fight the Furies. Which are new to the series. This game explains more of his past and why he does this. The game pretty much plays the same as usual with some new twists. There are some cool new powers that you use a lot. I was sort of disappointed with the magic as it was more of just elemental changes to the blades. You can do big spells with each, but you have to build up a meter without taking damage. And like the past games, it is very easy to get all the upgrades and max them out. The new places in this game are pretty awesome and quite imaginative. The game is pretty large and has a lot of story.

This is also a great trophy game if you are into that. It was a pretty decent platinum without too much extra playing. I actually messed up and needed to play the game twice. But the second time was a very quick play through It helps that they replaced the "Challenge of the Gods" with the online play, and there is only one online trophy for the tutorial. Besides that I didn't really touch the online, I think it sort of silly to try to incorporate that into God of War. Not every game needs online play!
